Grant grew up in Western Canada and earned a Ph. D. in Zoology at the University of Toronto, developing methods of analyzing dinosaur brains.
He has participated in archaeological and paleontological excavations in Canada, the U.S.A. and Egypt. These involved recovery of fossils of Ice Age mammoths in the Yukon, 20 million year old whales in California, and 65 million year dinosaurs in Egypt. He has earned his living teaching Anatomy and Biology at institutions in Canada, the U.S.A., and Qatar.
He enjoys inhabiting Hamilton, Ontario. photography, and travels that have taken him to Australia, Southeast Asia, Nepal, Europe, Istanbul, and Oman.
Grant plays guitar better than someone who cannot play at all AND believes he is better looking than his photos suggest.
